What is JNV ?
Government
of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the india. Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalaya known as JNV in short. Presently, the JNVs run in 27 States and 08
Union Territories. These are co-educational residential schools fully financed
and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization,
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
What is the procedure to get admission in JNV?
Navodaya
Vidyalaya Samiti publish a notification every year for admission to class 6 and
9 respectively. JNV Admission notification is contained with details of JNVST
Online apply start date, Last date to JNV online form, JNV
Selection Test exam date, JNVST admit card date, JNVST result date
procedure to apply for JNVST registration, Eligibility to apply for JNV

What is the medium of JNV Selection Test and Academic instruction?
According to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme, Presently 649 vidyalayas are functional in 27 States and 08 Union Territories. Each states have their regional language. So JNV Selection Test is conducted in respective state wise various languages. And the medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and thereafter English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science. Further, Students of the JNVs appear for board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education.How much fees are to pay after getting admission in JNVs?
There is no need to pay fees in JNV. So, education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, Divyang students, all Girl students and the students whose family income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted. In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ST & Girl students and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged Rs.1500/- per month or actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less. However, VVN shall not be less than Rs.600/- per student per month.When does JNV Selection Test admit card, JNV admit card issue on JNV Portal?
The admit cards are make available as per date decided by NVS in due course which is displayed on application portal. The admit cards are downloaded free of cost by the candidates/parents before the conduct of JNV Selection Test, JNV exam.When does JNV Selection Test result, JNV result declare on JNV Portal?
The result of JNV Selection Test 2023 is expected to be announced by June 2023. Candidates can get the result from the admission portal. The result is also displayed in the offices of the concerned:

What are Eligibility Criterias for JNV Selection Test to Class-V?
- Candidate must study class V in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District.
- Under rural quota: A candidate must have studied in class 3rd and 4th and 5th from the Government/Government Aided/Government recognized school(s) located in rural areas.
- Studying under the schemes of NIOS : Candidates should provide their rural status certificate issued by District Magistrate / Tehsildar / Block Development Officer.
- At least 75% of the seats in a district are filled by candidates from rural areas and the remaining seats are filled from the urban areas of the district.
- Transgender Candidates Eligibility for Admission: There are no separate reservation criteria for transgender's candidates. They will be included in the Boys category, under various sub-categories such as Rural, Urban, SC, ST and Divyang.
Which documents do require to submit after selection for JNV Class 6?
The parents of the candidates who are provisionally selected for admission are to be submitted the following documents at the time of admission for verification.- Proof for date of birth -The copy of Birth Certificate issued by competent Government Authority concerned.
- Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of NVS.
- Residence Certificate: The valid residential proof (as notified Govt. of India) of the parent of the same District where the JNV is located & candidate has studied class V shall be furnished.
- candidate has to submit the copy of Aadhaar Card.
- Certificate by the Head Master of the school regarding study details.
- Category/community certificate (SC/ST) if applicable.
- Disability certificate (if applicable).
What is syllabus and nature of exam for JNV Selection Test to Class-V?
There are 2 hours to complete 80 questions of 100 marks based on 3 (Three) sections mental ability test (MAT), arithmetic test and language test of objective type of questions.
